Spot the Scam: Know the Signs Webinar (12 PM Session)
Tuesday, September 29
12:00 PM (CDT)
Join us for an informative virtual workshop presented by Fidelity Investments.
Spot the Scam: Know the Signs is an educational webinar designed to raise awareness about financial scams and tactics commonly used to target individuals. In this session, Kyle Fliehman (Certified Fraud Examiner) will share insights into:
- how scammers infiltrate victims' lives
- the psychological strategies they use to build trust
- the warning signs that may indicate further fraudulent activity.
Participants will explore several common scam scenarios from beginning to end, gaining a clearer understanding of how scams evolve and how victims are manipulated over time. The webinar also highlights practical clues that may signal a scam attempt, helping attendees recognize red flags before financial harm occurs.
In addition, the session emphasizes the value of building a trusted "circle of support" - individuals and resources that can help verify suspicious requests and provide guidance when something does not feel right. Attendees will leave with practical knowledge, educational resources, and actionable strategies designed to help protect themselves, their families, and local communities.
Through education and awareness, this session aims to empower individuals with the tools needed to better recognize, prevent, and respond to financial scams.
